I pretty much like every song in his Blak and Blu album but I would say I like this song the most. Just the automatic head bop you do when you hear the drum beats and the guitar melody. The way he sings the part of the song “soOoOoo good” is the way I would say how good this song is.
I can’t have a music list without The Beatles in the mix. There are countless of sonns to choose from but I think my favorites are from their album Abbey Road. It has hits like Come Together, Something, Here Comes The Sun. But I think I Want You (She’s So Heavy) I like the most. It’s almost 8 minutes of rock and roll, blues, and jazz. The vibe of the song is sexy and badass. The way John Lennon sings it, Paul’s bass line, guitar solos, and the way it switches tempo. The final recording of this song is also the last time all four of the Beatles were in the studio together. It’s just an overall great song.
This song was written by Eric Clapton for Pattie Boyd, which was George Harrison’s wife at that time. I don’t have a favorite song but this would be an easy default for me if I had to choose one. The guitar riff on this song is probably one of the best and famous riffs. The piano part that brings the song to its ballad ending is just perfect. This whole song was perfectly written. This album is also top three for me. Give this song a thorough and intent listen, you won’t regret it.
Most people that don’t really pay attention to John Mayer usually just categorize him as a “pop-py”, nice background music to listen to while shopping for grocery. True story, the first time I heard John Mayer was when I was in an Autozone and “Why Georgia” was playing. But the more I paid attention, the more I’m just floored by how good he is. I think it’s an easy argument to label him as one of the greatest guitar players. This song is one of my favorites of him. It’s a cover of a Jimi Hendrix song and man does he play it good. Just. Ask. The Axis.
If The Eagles were to be on tour right now and they only played their hits, it would still be a two hour show. There’s Hotel California, Lyin’ Eyes (which I thought was Lion’s Eyes before), Take It Easy, Tequila Sunrise… I picked this song out of their songs for several reasons. One, it’s one of The Eagles song that isn’t written by Frey/Henley or any of the Eagle guys but it’s undoubtedly an Eagles song. I also like that it’s probably one of the sweetest love songs ever written. It’s also a song I like to play on the guitar. Reading more about this song, I found out that it was nominated for a Grammy and in pretty good company – Waterfalls (TLC), I Can Love You Like That (All-4-One), and I’ll Be There For You (The Rembrandts). I think The Eagles should’ve won, but it was Hootie and his damn Blowfish that took the prize for the song Let Her Cry.
