Apart Tour. The Masonic, San Francisco
I’ve been a fan of Allen Stone for a while. He has a wonderful voice with an appealing vibrato and just an obvious way of singing his heart out. When you sing along with him, he kinda makes you sing better. It’s weird but as you sing his songs and emulate the way he sings it, somehow it’s a slightly better voice than the shower singing voice. It’s probably just me.
He was coming out with an album and it’s a more curated list where he breaks down select songs and produces it acoustically and performs it in a really heartfelt way. So I pre-ordered the vinyl. I got the special edition vinyl pressing cause I’m a sucker for those kinds of things. It’s a really good album that I can just play all day.
So I found out he was going on tour to play his APART album and one of the stops was The City. I bought the tickets and invited the French couple I met at Yosemite hiking. We had a wonderful dinner before the show and had a great time being at the show. Not to mention that the Masonic quickly became one of my favorite venues. It was intimate with amazing acoustics and just feels idyllic. It was the perfect setting for his show.
