BottleRock 2021

This was the first year that I’ve attended BottleRock. I’ve always wanted to go from it became a thing back in 2013 but the situation was never really right. It was either we’re living out of the area, not that appealing of a lineup, or just stragiht-up too expensive. But last year I made it a point to go. The lineup was pretty stacked; it had bands and artist that I’d like to go see – Foo Fighters, Black Pumas, Walk Off the Earth, Megan Thee Stallion…, but I was mostly interested in the Foo Fighters.

They have been one of my favorite bands and I’ve always wanted to see them live. I am so happy that we went. It was an amazing show. The energy was so enthralling throughout the night. They also performed their “Dee Gees” covers. It’s their tribute/homage to the Bee Gees where they play a cover of their songs in Foo fashion.

It would also be the first and unfortunately last time I get to see Taylor Hawkins perform. He passed away recently and I was very fortunate to get to see him perform. He also sang a Queen song while Dave played the drums. It was a surreal experience.

I can’t say enough things to describe how amazing that night was. I still think back on it and feel that same energy everytime I think about it.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, Taylor Hawkins…”
